Code of Conduct

Detail Investigation Services is committed to an operating philosophy and a Standard of Conduct that is based on fairness and concern for all people. This philosophy and Code of Conduct govern our relationships internally between all employees, contractors and associates, and externally with clients. The purpose of having this Code of Conduct is to ensure that each and every associate, employee and contractor of the agency is aware of, and keep true to, the agency's guiding principles. The Code of Conduct is also meant to provide guidance to all associates when they are faced with making ethical decisions and decisions on appropriateness of conduct.

Every associate, employee and contractor of the agency is expected to:

  • Perform his/her duties, and carry him/herself within the bounds of legality, morality and professional ethics Act with honesty, integrity and credibility at all times in his/her dealings with the public, clients and other associates of the agency
  • Be careful and safe at all times, and report any unsafe conditions immediately to management
  • Use courtesy and respect when dealing with others and not use foul or sarcastic language, or engage in what could be considered rude or lewd behaviour towards others
  • Avoid all statements and actions that might be perceived as harassing or discriminatory in nature
  • Ensure that he/she is not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or consume drugs or alcohol, during the hours that the associate is providing services to the agency
  • Wear dress attire that is appropriate to the associate's function within the agency
  • Adhere to all Provincial, Federal and any other governing laws and legislation relating to providing investigative services
  • Never be guilty of conduct that will bring reproach upon himself or herself, the agency, the client or the investigation industry as a whole
  • Make known, and avoid, any potential personal or professional, conflict of interest which may arise between themselves, the agency, or clients of the agency
  • Not accept, or offer, any form of inducements or gratuities from/to prospective or current, clients, associates or any other party associated with the agency, or an investigation
  • Take all necessary steps to protect and ensure the security and non-disclosure of all client and agency information that they may be exposed to
  • Undertake to protect the interests of both our clients and the agency
  • Work together with the agency towards the achievement of the highest professional objectives of the agency and to observe the precepts of truth, accuracy and prudence
  • Ensure that all associates and other persons paid to assist in an investigation adhere to this Code of Conduct
